                                       The Josephine DeMello Scholarship Fund

The Josephine DeMello Scholarship Fund aims to maximize and assist students whose siblings passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) to obtain higher educational opportunity. We offer a yearly one time limited financial assistance for students K-12. Families are required to demonstrate their financial need to qualify. The scholarship fund is awarded in August each year and deadline for application is April 15 each year. Please fill out the request from for scholarship application.

                                      Scholarship Details

                                      • Scholarships are generally awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
                                      • Children eligible for a scholarship must be entering grades K-12
                                      • Scholarships are awarded to all eligible (SIDS families) children in a family, provided they are entering eligible grades and will maintain B average.
                                      • The maximum scholarship cap varies from city to city, and the average award is around $1,000.
                                      • It is our goal that all scholarships be extended through the 12th grade. However, this depends on the availability of funding and on the family’s continuing eligibility.
